Had a guy call today, says he has a Rhino system, get onsite and the server says Rhino and the GUI says Elastix and looking around I saw Asterisk. He is wanting if any user dials 911 for it to route to a LD number for a company that handles his 911(Red SKY??) can this be done ??and what system does he have ?

Elastix is based on Freepbx, which uses Asterisk. I believe Rhino just builds an appliance that you can use for Elastix, PBXinaFlash, etc...

You should be able to build an Outbound Route for 911 and send it to wherever you want it to go. I wouldn't do it, but you can. wink

Why is he wanting to do this? Even most SIP companies will route 911 for you.

This is a resort in the mountains and if one of the cabins calls 911 they need the address of the cabin not the main office, they are using a Flex IP PRI and A&T says they can't do it so he is using RED SKY for his 911 and needs the calls routed to them.

We use this e911 provider. No up front fee. Pay as you go. If you can send the 911 calls here by SIP you can enter each unit address and be done with it.
