I recently put in a DSX 40 for a customer in their new building. Their old system (and I mean old) was an ancient Vodavi analog system.

Previously, they could pickup the handset and immediately begin dialing a CO line without pressing a flex button or "9" to access a CO line.

Is there any feature similar to this on this system? I've been through the programming manual and cannot find anything specific to this.

I thought the entire world that used more than a $9 Big Lots phone was used to dialing 9 by now. laugh

Don,
Will that off hook prime line allow the system to choose any available line or just the one set as prime? Maybe you can put the line group in?

Yes, put the line group in that field (90, 91, etc.).

Mark

With the later releases of the DSX (which you have) you can assign the same line to multiple groups

group 90 could be 1,2,3,4
group 91 could be 4,3,2,1
group 92 could be 3,4

In the Dsx each extension can use the group you assign.

I sometimes assign a specific line (not a group) to speed dials that are set up to turn off call forwarding like *72 from the CO

Old releases in the ones or early twos, a line could only be in 1 group.
