I have an old mini VS system that for some reason am being denied when I am trying to get my laptop directly into the programming via serial connection. This has worked many times before, so it is not something I am doing wrong smile

My question is this......I need to change the off hook schedule. Is there ANY way I can do this via key programming? If not, can you think of an any reason why I would all of a sudden not be able to get into the programming of the iwatsu or omega VMI anymore? Any help would be awesome!

Changing the off hook schedule has to be done with the programmer.

If you're having trouble connecting, check the following things:

What COM port are you using, and is it the same one the program is expecting you to use? Check the communications tab of the programmer to be sure.

Check the patch cable you're using to be sure it's not a cross over cable.

Make sure you're using the proprietary 9 pin adapter (FAX065) and not some ordinary serial to 8 pin adapter ( This is the problem 99% of the time).

All of these suggestions are correct. We have read a few things about how the programmer likes to die sometimes on these old VS systems. Something about memory issues or something like that. Make any sense to you?

Which programmer version are you using?

The earliest version of the VS used to be a little flaky with the programmer, especially when the last ADIX programmer came along- it didn't play well with the earlier VS versions. That said, the stuff you need to work on is on the voice mail card, and that programmer can be a bit recalcitrant no matter which version you're using. Failing to connect to the voice mail is usually a config issue with the proper COM port. The programmer likes to use COM 2 and most everyone else opts for COM 1.

You can test connectivity to the voice mail card by clicking on the 'monitor' icon before you connect. If all of your config is correct, the ASCII console window will open up. You can't really do anything at this point, but it verifies your physical connection.
