My inter-tel phone system version 6 one day stopped allowing phone calls to enter into the extensions.
After one of my employees rest the phone system with a power off, power on a new problem was created. Now nobody is able to get into their voicemail. The user gets an error message that the extension is unplugged. I tried connecting to the phone system using db manager and got an error message that the voicemail was disconnected and gave me an option to continue as is or try to enter normally. I tried to enter normally and the connection failed. I then connected again and told the system to continue and it allowed me to enter but with no access to voicemail.
I am hoping I can find a free-lance Inter-tel guru to help me fix this problem. Work can be done via terminal server. I also have a problem that my remote messaging is not working. The system is unable to dial out to remote users to announce existence of new messages.
please contact Craig or Claudia if interested. 503-913-9330

Hi Craig:
Welcome to the board. Are you using a VM computer or is it a VM card that runs in the cabinet? The reason I ask is that it sounds like the cable from the cabinet to the VM computer isn't connected well. Not the big cable(s) with the 9 pin connectors in the end but the one that looks like a phone cord that plug into the DB9 to RJ45 converter on the back of the computer. You might try unplugging that cable and plugging it back in.
Aside from that there are some great techs on this board. You might also post this in the "Request an Installer" forum from the main page.
Good Luck

The voicemail computer is probably not on. Find the computer and either turn it on or reset it.
