I got a call from customer today about dead system. All phones have display that says OK SYNC but cant get into programing or do anything. I went through a few pages here and sounds like it may need to be reinistallized but im not sure. KSU is 3501-00. Rev 1.6 Customer said it was fine friday, dead when they came in today. No storms or power outage. I had power off a few months ago to add station card and phones. I dont have much experience with these systems. Thanks.

I bet there was a power outage and you have a dead RAM battery. The system will need to be reinitialized, and the battery replaced.

You will really want to replace that battery or put in a replacement cab while you send the other one for repair if your not comfortable replacing the battery. Otherwise you are going to have nothing but problems in the future.

My fault, read it wrong. I changed battery and reprogramed. 1st time programming a vodavi from scratch, it took awhile. one thing i could not get to work was off hook selection for slt. Got confirmation tone but wouldnt work. one thing i dont like about this system is that its just dead if it loses power with dead battery. Other systems just lose programming but still function. Thanks for yalls help.

Jimmy, you have to change the station type (station ID) in flash 50, page B, button 1 to a digital phone, even though the station is an SLT. After that, you can program it to go off-hook and grab the button that you've programmed it to "press" on a keyset. It is a bit strange, but it makes sense if you've been dealing with this quirk for 20+ years with it. I just got used to it and now I like it.

Thanks Ed. I dont dislike the system im just not familiare with it yet. I told the customer to use it for a few days and make a list of whats wrong. Ill try that with the SLT port when i go back.
