I need to add analog ports to an Option 11 system. There seems to be several cards available, I need less than 8 ports, any recommendations? Also what is the procedure to add a card?

Do you need message waiting lamps?
The most common card for analog extensions is the NT8D03, a quad density pack offering 16 ports...I don't think there are any 8 port or smaller cards for an option 11.

I've installed hundreds of these systems and have never seen an NT8D03 although they do exist. I always installed the 16 port NT8D09XX analog with message wait support.

Thanks for the info, do not need MW but the 09 cards have availability. Is this a power down, stick the card in and reboot? Can you provide the LDs that I need to program to get a PRI DID number to ring at an analog port?

No need to power down- just insert the card and program the ports. The ringing programming is site dependent- some sites require digit manipulation and some don't.

Too funny...I can't say I've installed hundreds of these, but I can count on one hand the number of them that have had message waiting, and all of those have been in lodging.

Put your card in an IPE slot then.....
LD 20
Req: new Type: cardslt L S C (for analog) or Type: cardmlt L S C (for digital)
After you do this
LD 20 Req: LUVU Type: 500 (analog units)
This will show you your new TN's for the card you just installed.
As the great Bob once said, "Its a SWITCH its either OFF or its ON!"
