Here's one for you! Our 5.118 system has started broadcasting phone conversations over the paging system. At different times and from different extensions, all of the sudden people hear their conversations over the paging system. Yet the people at the extensions say they did nothing different and did nothing to activate the paging system. These conversations are heard over the phones and the overhead speakers. Has anyone ever heard of this?

How is your paging hooked up, through page port or speaker leads from a phone? Are all the stations on the same circuit board? When was the last time the system was reset? Have you visually inspected the backboard for any loose jumper scraps that might be shortimng out pins?

Had a customer with 5.3 that had the same issue. Paging was via page port to speakers and over phones. Ended up doing a DB save, tested DB, defaulted system and restored with tested DB. Issue never came back. I'm with RCA, I'd try a hard reset before anything else. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Thanks, BaKaatz. This appears to have worked. However, you need to add the warning that when they default the system, they will lose all of their recordings. Perhaps this is something I should have known, but it was a bit of a surprise.

Sorry about that! The things I take for granted at this point in my life... well, lets not go there.

True, if you select 'default database' in programming in will wipe eveything out. Next time just turn off your system, pull the battery strap on CPU and reload database, all voice files will be there. Or just try turning it off then on.

This was an issue with some CPU hardware as well, 128s and 256s mostly.
