Inter-tel Premier 1224.
Customer changed suites, & the landlord had someone move the system, now nothing works. When I got on prem. they had 1 sta-A card in a cou2 slot. none of the phones will work. I checked the voltages from the trouble shooting section, & all OK. I don't have any spare cards to try. Can I diagnos this without buying cards to try & getting stuck with them? My "run" LED is on steady, but when I arrived it had been flashing & clicking all weekend. I had the customer disc. all the phones, & I connected 1 jack to the 2nd sta card which has only 1 sta working on it, but can't get anything out of it . Could this be a bad CPU card even though the run LED is on?
Also could we upgrade to an AXXent & use the same phones? Help appreciated.

Have you checked the fuse on the station card? The RUN led should be steady not flashing. Heres the bottom line. Its either a fuse or fuses are blown on the station card, the CPU, or power supply. Youn said the LED was flashing and you heard clicking. My first guess is the power supply is dying under a load. Pull all jumpers or pull all cards except the first and connect just one phone and go from there.

No, those phones cant be used on Axxent. Axxess yes(with AKSC card), Axxent no.

First I would check the station wiring as I have seen many people not swap the first pair and blow the fuses as mentioned above, second I would check the baud rate switches 1-4 on the CPU , perhaps it was changed ,also power down and reseat the cards. It is possible that the CPU is bad but if it was only moved and was working before I would think it's good. Check everything as you have no idea what the other guy did.

The first pair is your power 0n station block A and needs to be swapped, so white/blue goes on red and blue/white goes on green, as you said you didn't move it so they may have just wired it striaght which would blow the fuse upon powering it up and all would be dead.

THANKS FOR THE TIP, I swapped the 1st pair & they worked. one other problem was , most of the jacks were RJ45's & I had on rewire them for this 3 pair system. but all's well today. Got some education on that one. Thanks again

Thanks for posting back. Glad you got it working. Keep in mind that when the first pair isn't reversed, and you plug in a phone, it will usually blow the fuse on the station card.
