Hi,
I have one NEC DT700 24 button phone that cannot make outgoing calls. This started happening about a week ago. I have rebooted the phone. Done a factory reset on the phone, tried the phone in a different port.

The phone can receive calls and can make calls to other extensions but cannot call ddi's, external mobile numbers or external landline numbers. When you try to make a call, when you input the 7th or 9th digit you get an engaged tone.

I have plugged another phone into the port and that worked fine. The other phone was the same model. All other phones work fine.

Cheers,
Marek

I suspect it's time to send for repair. I've seen quite a few odd things but not that one especially as another fone on the same port works fine..

Is this an IP phone?

Sounds like possibly the COS of that extension is different or it is toll restricted?

Hi,
Thanks for replying, yes it is an IP phone. Yeah, I suspected it might be tolls as well. Do you know how to disable tolls on the dt700, are you able to do it from the phone. The phone was working correctly about a week ago. Could the user have turned on tolls himself, accidentally by hitting a combination of keys?

Cheers,
Marek

User cannot enable or disable tolls, what would the point be if they could?

Tolls are only enabled, disabled or changed via system programming, if you know for sure no one accessed programming then I would think the problem is a defective phone.
