Howdy,
7400 v4.60b
Any known issues or bugs using DM Set Relocation 6.3.6 to do port swaps?
Large 7400 with A LOT of digital phones. Swapping patch cords isn't reasonable with a many as they have.

Set relocate only works when both ports have the same handset type.
Other then messing up your neat number plan there are no issues that i'm aware of.

You need to use the logout feature on the ip phones.
Hotdesking is the same thing as set relocate

I don't know what the current TS people are saying but the previous crew said not to use it or use it at your own risk. At one point they would ask you at the start of a support call if you have ever used it on the system, if so you would have to default it and see if you can duplicate it then. I know from experience it messed up the Officeserv 100's really bad and on a 7200s more recently had me chasing ghosts in the system until i defaulted it. In your case i would take a backup of the system, then set a feature code for SET RELOC and allow it in COS Features, from there you can go to a phone, dial the code followed by the extension you want to move there. Essentially the same thing but i have not noticed as many problems using it.

I too remember TS saying not to use it.... I'm to chicken to try it, I don't want to default and reprogram the a system.

way back in the day they had issues with it but work great on new software. I don't use it much but when I do works great. My whole base is 5210 3105 phones with cage based remote servers. no problem to date. servers are 7100,7200,7400 only. can't speak to the 7200s and 7030.
