the cause is i have 128 extension assigned i need 20 more. what is the less expensive and best solution for that.

That would be my thought but he may have lots of SL digital sets which won't work on the 8100 and that is a major cost in large upgrades. Been there with the Elites and their DTUs and the 2000s and their DTPs. people will hold off upgrading to a larger system if it involves changing out their fones..
