Dear all,

i have a panasonic tes824 pabx system all extensions use kx-t7730. all the while was good with 1 outgoing lines. i would press 9 followed by the external number and it would use co1 to call out.

however, i would like to add another extension and activated co2 as sort of a backup line. however, when i press 9 followed by the external number, it would use co2 to call out even when co1 is not in used.

currently i can only swap them so co2 is my main line and co1 is my backup line.

how can i make it automatically choose co1 to call out followed by co2.

The last system that you could predict the order of the outgoing lines was the TD series. In the TA (your TES) you only get high to low. You could dial 81 to force calls on line 1, or even use pickup dialing to get CO1. Or, as you say, put line 1 in line 2's position.

you cant change the order on the tes, the older model would but they changed it for some reason.

you could use ars and force the calls on line 1 with line 2 only if busy. only problem is if line 1 goes dead then it will keep picking that up first

Carl's dial 81 is the easiest or your swap lines from 1 to 2
