Is a separate static ip required for a remote SBX 8000 phone? Any way to port forward or name server? Comcast charges $40 more a month for a bank of 5 static ip addresses.

You may need a static ip for the SBX but not for the phone itself, if that is what you are asking. A static IP for the SBX is advised because port forwarding tends to be hard to work with.

I know I do not need one for the remote end because I will setup that as DHCP on the endpoint. I have a static ip setup on the local network for the VOIB card, but that is behind the Comcast router. We have one static ip for the comcast router, but that is also the internet as well.
