For those of you searching for a solution where inbound calls will pop up patient charts in the dental and orthodontics industry, we have just completed an implementation with Allworx 6X and Ortho Track. The following steps are required:
1) You will need a software module from CareStream called "Smart Call"
2) You will need the Call Assistant/TAPI license for your Allworx PBX.
3) Install the Allworx TAPI driver on each PC needing the integration and configure it to work with the phone sitting next to the PC. If the PC is in a different VLAN from the phone, an IP route between is needed.
4) Call Assistant does not need to be installed.
5) Browse to the SCinstall.exe file on the server and install Smart Call
6) Added smart call to Windows startup script for all users so that it always starts upon login.
7) Right click on SmartCall in the system tray and go to configure > select the Allworx Provider > Select the correct OrthoTrack employee > select the correct Allworx Extension > Add '91' to the area code and save.
Test your work. When the phone rings, a pop up screen should show at the bottom right. If not, check your firewall and anti-virus. Make sure the security settings allow connections from the IP address of the PBX and also allow the exe file of smartcall. If their is no Caller ID match to the OrthoTrack system a link to 'new patient' should pop up. If multiple patients match the same phone number select the one you want in pop up and click 'answer'.
Normal function works like this.
1) phone rings
2) Pop up screen shows matching patient
3) Click answer
4) Patient chart is pulled up.
