Customer has an ATT Merlin Plus. Ext 12 is connected to an SAA unit which is connected to a Wheelock device which is then connected to a loud bell. Problem is that the bell isn't working anymore. I'm going to start by replacing the SAA, then the wheelock device. I can't seem to find a model # on the wheelock and I need to find something comparable. The wheelock device has a turn switch and is labeled 'ON (1)', 'OFF' & ON (2). Any idea what model this could be, I know its pretty old. ------------------ | Capitol Communications | Telephone Systems

In my notes I have the Wheelock relay as model number CRT-40. I think that's the relay with the round case.

I did a search on wheelock crt-40 and found nothing. What do you recommend as a replacement. The existing wheelock deice has an modular input from the phone and a modular output that's connecte to a modular input on the bell. ------------------ | Capitol Communications | Telephone Systems

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with that one (modular). They might not even make the CRT-40 anymore. That had to be wired manually if I recall correctly.

Connecting the speaker leads to an amp is a good idea. I did that with a Rolmphone into a paging amp, but used a 600-600 ohm isolation transformer. A horn speaker would only need about 5 watts or so to be loud.
