Has anyone heard of Franchise Phones? I may be losing a sale to this outfit because they promised "superior" telephone service via Internet and they basically give away the telephone instruments. I can't find any information outside of their web site about them. Any help would be appreciated.
I forgot, they are also using the Clarity name as part of their name. It's Franchise Phones by Clarity.

It looks to me like Clarity is a hosted offering and they have a special program / package for franchised businesses in addition to their standard offerings.
Is it a franchise??
In any case it is a hosted solution at $20 per month per seat. It is subject to the same potential for poor quality using a cable connection to the internet. They may also need to spend more $ on their internet pipe each month.

John,
Yes, this is a franchise for Comfort Keepers. We addressed all their concerns regarding their two locations here and how we would link the two together. I think the whole thing stinks because all they are concerned about is the "amazing" low cost of the VoIP.
Grape Kool-Aid anyone?

I think they are private label from another VOIP provider.
It will work fine for the way you describe. Sadly this is te direction telecom is going.

Has anybody here actually made any money off hotels and motels anyway? I say let them have at it. Their turn to deal with Mr. Patel.

LOL....I share your feelings, however, Comfort Keepers is a care provider for shut-ins. Kind of like visiting nurses.
Yes, I know this is the direction the industry is going, but I'm not going to help it along. I had a service call from a National, yesterday. The site has a Samsung OfficeServ VoIP system. Completely dead. No way to provide POTS as the COs are provided on a T1. They will be completely down for a week tomorrow. So, yeah, woopee VoIP.

This is a story for a horror show. The system was provided by a huge petroleum company who decided they could make a killing in the VoIP mess by supplying these Samsung OfficeServ systems and a T-1 off their network. Kind of get them coming and going.
Well, a few months into their grand plan and 15 OfficeServs later, the big bad company decided supporting these systems was too much of a hassle. So, they walked away from it. No support and, oh, yeah, if your system is still in warranty, like this one, too bad. They basically made their contacts to read that they could walk away anytime and there is no recourse.
See, when you drink the low cost Kool-Aid, better look at the fine print.
