Greetings, I am trying to set up voicemail to e-mail using Gmail. The error I get in the error log is Failed to start SSL/TLS encryption. Any Thoughts? Thanks

I had that before but can't recall how I fixed it, I think it was a case of a software upgrade, also make sure you have gmail.com in the domain.

Which GMAIL server settings are you using? I believe putting gmail.com in the domain will help fix it.

OS7100 4.70 smtp.gmail.com 587 ****@gmail.com ******password gmail.com encryption yes SSL In 5.6.1 I have the clients DNS server as server 1 and 8.8.8.8 for gmail as server 2. Do I need to put their DNS server and the Google address in the management white list? I was thinking about that after I left. Thanks

Try changing your encryption to TLS rather then SSL.
Whitelist won't make any difference to Email Gateway

Change the port to 465 and use SSL.

Tried that and came back with some -1 error. I finally got it to work with a non google cable company set up. If someone has a google set up that 100 percent works. I would be interested in trying it in the lab. I had 0 success with TLS SSL 587 465. Not sure where I went wrong. Thank You

Hmmm that definitely is strange. Just tried this in our 7100 here at the office and did a successful test message to my email.
