I talked to Chris at UCx for an hour and forty five minutes last week and it was fascinating.
You can use your current MICS, current M or T series phones, add on most any SIP phone and EACH user can have call accounting and call recording at no extra cost. This blows away the expensive call accounting and call recording companies and I'm ready to sign up as a dealer and would like to know if anyone here is doing UCx.
It is a bit much to someone that learned 1A2 and still knows it that your cell phone can be an extension off a kind-of nortel box.
Looking for any wisdom you have about UCx if you are selling them.
Thanks, Bracha

Mixed bag!
I also spoke with them and decided it's not for me.
It's it own system with some features (not many) of Norstar brought over as well excepts the digital sets like you said.
I would strongly try one and/or research like hell before you commit.

Me Too. Was asked by a distributor after looking at it wasn't all that impressed. If you do go for it let us know what you think. Good Luck, John 807

New to the board. Wanted to update you gents.
E-MetroTel UCx latest release now supports Meridian 1 / CS 1000 M3900 and M2000 series digital sets as well as the Norstar / BCM T / M series. Another option to consider for Nortel customers.
Cheers, Steph02

We have been selling EmetroTel for over 3 years now. As a former Nortel Partner turned into Avaya Partner we found that Avaya's so called Nortel Migration was a serious downgrade as far as the phones were concerned. All though you can connect Nortel T series phones(Not all revisions) they are half of what they used to be as far as features. Ip phones are nothing like they used to be since they have to be converted to SIP. The IPO, although a good system if you get it in and leave it alone has tons of issues with Bugs and we spend an enormous amount of time resolving those bug issues when they arise. EmetroTel on the other hand has a single user license for each user that unlocks all standard features like VM to email, find me follow me, CDR, CAll Accouting, Call recording, built in contact center queues, User portal for each extension, WebRTC (a browser based Phone), and much much more. There are no additional licenses for VM ports, SIP Trunks or endpoints etc. etc.. the system has unlimited SIP trunks for connecting to carriers or other UCx's or any other system that does SIP trunking. All that is additional licensing in IPO. No additional servers for Call recording, Voice Mail, contact center reporting, it's all built in. All this and more plus built in Nortel technology like being able to use all Nortel digital phones as Steph02 mentioned. Not to mention almost all the Feature codes used on Norstar and BCM are exactly the same in UCx. You can still add feature codes to phones by pressing F*1, 2 & 3. The UCx also accepts Unistim software on Nortel phones so there is not converting to SIP and the phones do not lose all their functionality.
There is not a better migration plan for Nortel users on the planet. It gives them all the UC goodies while protecting a huge amount of their previous investment in Phones, and if a BCM, M! or CS1000 you can reuse any of the Station DTM's or Cards in the Digital gateway.
You all need to look into this system a little more. It's not jsut for Nortel users either it is a fantastic standalone PBx that will handle just about any SIP endpoint like Polycom, Cisco, Yealink and Grandstream.
UCx is outselling IPO in our company 3 to 1 Vs IPO. It is always cheaper to the customer after you get done adding all the licensing that other systems needs.
Just my opinion of course, but it's worth a serious look.
