Does anyone know if having the D Chanel in the same group as the rest of the PRI trunks could cause problems I have always put the D Chanel in group 0
I have been ask to troubleshoot a SV9100 CP10 10.XX that has been having intermittent problems processing calls mostly incoming
I have a copy of the database just looking it over and saw this
I think the channels are getting locked up or not disconnecting properly from what they are telling me and then they reboot the phone system and all is well for a while
just wondering
Thanks

OK
so they believe the CPU 10 or programing is corrupt and the want me to re key the data base by hand which I have done as of today we are going to be working with Optus on transferring the licenses over to the new CPU 10
They want to replace the CPU and reprogram the CPU from scratch
I am using a CPU from our Demo Kit (48 Port) I had to turn on Free 10 day License
They have a mix bag of multi button phone IP Phones and single lines phones its a nursing home
I am trying to figure out how to get the voice mail greetings onto the new CPU Optus mentioned using In mail utility which I haven't used on the SV 9100 CP10
also I saw in the program that 0 (Zero) is a virtual extension number and cant figure out how they did that
Just wondering if anyone has had to replace a CPU
Thanks

Something to check. I had a system behaving very similar on a PRI. It was thought by NEC, and me, that the CPU might be bad. I powered down the system and discovered that, even though the CPU screws were tight on the chassis, the card itself was able to be inserted into the system quite a bit. After that, the problems quit. Make sure all your cards are well seated into the backplane.
If you can get help from NEC or Optus, it is also quite easy to run a D-Channel trace and, if you can duplicate the trouble, see if this is a provider problem.
If the voice mail has many mailboxes and messages, In Mail utility would be the easiest way. If it is small and you think you can get away with just saving the greetings then logging in as USER1 will allow you to download and upload greetings in all mailboxes. If there is not too much work then you can also download messages. The NEC uses a naming convention that allows you to easily figure out what greeting goes to what mailbox.

Problem Solved!
Customer has been having problems with incoming calls on PRI
Patient phone were programmed for automatic trunk line seizure
The PRI was programmed as Ascending
There where several patient phones that were not hung up correctly
Which would give them access to a Chanel and the channel on the PRI card would be busy as long as the phone was off hook
However the carrier would not see that camel as busy Because there was not a call on it
Anytime a call would come in it would see the Chanel as free but the PRI Chanel was busy
So don’t use automatic trunk line seizure On patient phones
I changed the PRI to descending an change the patient Phones to dial 8 when you lift handset
So it won’t grab a PRI Chanel until you make a call
