I have a customer with a CICS 6.1. After years of working properly, recently caller-id from mobile devices has stopped working. Instead of getting the name like they always have, they now just get "/w" all the time. If I plug a standard telephone into the Comcast interface, I get the caller id as I should every call. If I reset the system, it works for one call, then reverts back. Any ideas? Thinking of defaulting the system and reprogramming. As far as replacing equipment, I would not know whether to change the KSU, the SW, or the CI card?

You say, "FROM mobile devices".

Are you saying that any cell phone calling the site, no caller ID?
But land lines calling the site -it works ok?
That is weird.

Cell phones are known for NOT sending Caller ID Names but usually sends the phone number.
But reading between the lines......
I would start with the CallerID trunk card.

But if you get good CLID on the Digital phones, I would look at the Provider as the issue.

Yes it is only when someone calls from cell phones. Sometimes the carrier only sends "wireless" or "Atlanta", but even so, we are not getting that. Up until about 2 months ago it worked fine.

Already eliminated provider. Works on butt set every time.

We had that issue here in NJ. I called Comcast and they made the adjustment. Took a couple days. The Comcast phone rep said it only seems to affecting Nortel systems. They should be able to fix this.

Which provider is it?

What jsaad said, reminded me that there is a code that Spectrum had to put in for things to work.
That might be the same for other providers.

I am searching thru the posts, with the same problem.

Nortel MICS, don't know the software release off the top of my head. Two CI cards, with 7 analog CO's that gets correct name and number on some calls but on some calls just gets [V for the name but does get the number.

Carrier is Comcast and I haven't called them yet, but I will.

Thanks.

From here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/verified-caller-id

Verified Caller ID
The word “Verified” (or the letter “V”) will appear next to some incoming calls on your caller ID, voicemail logs or TV screen (for Xfinity X1 customers). This will indicate that the call is coming from a phone number Comcast is able to verify.
