Inter-Tel Axxess System (version unknown)
I have taken over as IT/Telecommunications manager for a small mfg company. The previous person resigned abruptly with little or no systems documentation left behind (network map, passwords, etc). I have no previous experience managing a PBX system (more data network/pc hardware-software skills). My immediate problems are this:
1. I have no administrator passwords for the Axxess system. Is there a way to reset without knowing the current password?
2. For unknown reasons, the voicemail system has gone down. When trying to check internal voicemail, we are receiving "Voicemail is unplugged." How do I "plug" it back in?
I have an owner's guide but it seems of little use since I do not have a password. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

1. There is no way to reset the administrator password. You will have to call Inter-tel and incur a pretty hefty cost in order to have them reset it. The other option would be to default and program from scratch. If you have a saved copy of the database, it would help matters exponentially.
2. It depends on what kind of voice mail you have as to what may be the problem.
