I was just wondering how many of you have a BICSI cert. or if you think it is even nessary.

We have never encountered an instance where it was required, so to answer your question, no we are not. I have been told that if we submit the manufacturers' certifications that we hold to BICSI, they will issue us a certification.
We haven't ever had a customer require it. All that we worry about is business & trade licenses and insurance.

I think it all depends on the customer and if they have a IT dept. and if they know about cabling and communications. I'm a in house guy for La-Z-boy Corp. and being BICSI cert. tech was required. I've seen a lot of job postings for in house guys in my area that has that as a requirement. I known a lot of innerconnects that do work for the big three need to have their tech certified. I looks good and lets people know you know what you are doing.
