Looking to get into installing satellite(dish) equipment to keep the work coming. Anyone got any ideas</font>
Here's the web site:
https://www.satelliteguys.us/index.php? The company I work for is the largest HSP for DirecTV in the country, but I don't work on that side of things. However, just generally:
- Our techs roll 7/365, regardless of the weather.
- Pay is nothing like it once was, but that's the same in telecom, IT, etc. so you already know that.
- I don't know how well we pay our subcontractors, but the company techs don't make much, unless they are really hungry. It's a great job for a kid with a HS diploma and a lot of drive, but it's definitely not for everyone.
- If you are subbing for a retail outlet, there can be hassles, as the salespeople will promise the moon to a buyer. I'm not sure if that's a lack of ethics or simply not knowing the product and it's limitations.
We've bought out a couple of our subs in the last year, so that's always an option in the long run...
