Doesn't the legend MLM require you to use a Legend 6.1 and higher release in order to get the rotary enable function for the voice mail ports? I ran across one today which was a new install and a 6.0. There is not the rotary enable function is SPM and the MWL are not working.

did you reset the the message waiting lights? the last port is the one that transmits that info to the fones check if the last port is assigned to the vm group in the proper order ie 1,2,3,4 not 1423. It wont work if the exts are out of order or simply not there.

007 MLM does NOT require rotary enabled ports. It communicates with DTMF.

Merlin Messaging requires rotary enabled ports, which start with 6.1

The last port, or last TWO port on a 6 port system do the MW lites. Call them directly, and make sure they answer.

Put them on DSS buttons of a phone, and monitor their activity after a call is left.

turned out to be a faulty port of the MLM. I did do the rotary enable on another MLM and it seems to work fine. So on the MLM, it appears it will work either way. Does this sound right?

Rotary Enabled is only an option on the Magix. It was a slick way for avaya to Make you upgrade new magix if you needed to replace your old voicemail with the messaging. The VM sending DTMF to turn on message waiting lights worked for years, There was absolutely NO reason avaya made the change except for greed (and possibly TTR resources)

My Bad Rotary enabled became an option on the R7 of the Legend. But it still keeps the messaging from working right on the R6.1 and earlier

The purpose was for TTR's. If you run lines thru an autoattendant with a system that has lots of T/R phones you will notice. Magix drop support on 400 cards and other tricks to put more TTR's in the system.
