How familiar are you with programming?

There are two things that got automatically set when the calling group got set up for voice mail, and you need to change their settings to allow outcalling.

You'll need to know the extension numbers of the voice mail ports. If you don't, you can subsitiute * and 2 digits for the Slot that the Merlin Messaging sits in, and 2 digits for the voice mail port - that is, if the mail is in slot 5, its ports are *0501, *0502, *0503, and *0504 (assuming a 4 port mail)

You need to Unrestrict them and raise their FRL to 3. You will find these settings in the Extensions menu.

PM me if you need more information.

I'm another facing thesame issue. I remember reading somewhere that just the last two ports need to be set to unrestricted and 3 but I can't seem to get it to work either.

M Magix with Merlin Messaging r4? Hybrid mode.

I'll try setting all VM ports to U/3 and see if I can get it to work. If this doesnot work, is there somewhere to tell the system to allow these VM ports to access an outgoing line?

Out calling actually requires 3 changes to the Voice Mail ports to make them work.

I am having to make a guess as to what system all of you are using.

Here's a rule, Merlin MAIL uses the LAST PORT, MLM-007 uses the Last 2 (I think), and for sure, MERLIN MESSAGING USES ANY and ALL OF THEM.

That being said, the 3 things that must be changed on the VOICE MAIL EXTENSIONS are:

1) FRL back up to 3 from ZERO
2) Extensions UNRESTRICTED from RESTRICTED
3) Set TRUNK to TRUNK TRANSFER ALLOW to YES

So far, I have not yet seen any posts addressing all 3 of these things.
So far,

Ha!
Trunk to trunk transfer! That's something I haven't seen either!

I'll look it up!

Yup, we have Merlin Messaging on a Magix system and I've unrestricted the VM ports and enabled the users extension to allow. I bet the issue is the T2T trans.

Thanks!
