I have a few restaurant locations that have a partner 6 button phone at the front hostess stand. They also have the restaurant beeper gadgets to give you when you have to wait. Then they beep you when your table is ready. We're finding out that this paging device is interfering with audio on the Partner phone. Whenever they pick up this phone, and only this phone, they can hear a constant fax machine/modem noise. It's happening at a few locations. None of them use the fax line on the phone system.

Any ideas what to do. Is there a filter for this?

Is it similar to when your cellular telephone is ringing near a partner telephone?

Is the paging device close to that 6-button phone or the wiring?

Might be able to move the phone or wiring.

I'll bet they're stacking the spare "beepers" next to the phone. I've seen them do it in several restaurants, always made me wonder if they interfered with the digital phones.

the phone and the beepers are all kept on the same hostess desk space. it's basically a desk with cabinet underneath. The cable is Cat5 and the jack is underneath inside the cabinet. so you think if we just move the phone to away from the beepers?

I kinda think that if you just pick up the pagers and put them somewhere else you will know if that is going to help.

Agree, just move the pagers, if it helps there's your answer.
