i moved a system this afternoon from one room to another in the same building...and now the system will not dial out....incomming calls still work fine...when you dial a call i can see a line key light on the attendant phone and if i monitor with my butt set all i hear when it tries to dial out is nothing on the lines...any ideas?

(A) - Make sure you really have a GOOD GROUND

-AND-

(B) - Once you determine that (A) didn't fix your problem, then REVERSE T&R Polarity.

thanks for the ideas....i tried two different grounds so far...and i feel like it may be a bad ground...gonna run a new one to the same location it was....thanks again Andy

It is polarity sensitive - was designed that the line terminate on a JACK, and you use a standard LINE CORD to connect to the port on the card - thus getting a rollover in polarity.

If you used a cord with a crimped on plug, and cut it down on a block, the polarity is going to be reversed from what it needs to be.

Man, Tommy, you don't miss a trick. That's exactly what the problem is. Even a "bad" ground will start a GS trunk if the polarity is correct.

I hate to think of all the time wasted running "better" grounds. A screw in a metal stud is good enough to start one of these trunks.
