Just finishing up a switch out from a Merlin II to a Partner ACS R6.0 w/ (1) 308E.
The Merlin system had a mechanical bell with a line cord (no manufacturer or model # present)that operated on night ring for the warehouse that I need to get functioning again. I have placed extension #24 into the Night Service group and assigned it the (3) lines. I also changed the Line RInging to "no Ring" as shown in the manual. Whenever the bell is connected to Ext. 24, it rings constant. Even when no calls are active on the system. It is as if the bell is getting constant ring voltage.
My question: Can this bell be used with the Partner? Do I have something wrong in programming? Wired correctly? If not, I have seen some suggestions on the forum for electronic devices.

It is a 24 volt (or other low voltage) bell. It cannot be used with the Partner unless you provide a plug-in transformer or DC power supply for whatever the bell voltage is and then use a relay interface to control it from the ring voltage on the Partner extension port.

A better solution would be to replace the bell with one of the many devices available that will operate directly from a CO line ring voltage.

Guys thanks for the help. I had a small extension ringer that I use in my garage and brought it over to the site. The device worked perfect in the port so it wasn't a programming issue as I had thought. Customer has some paging horns so I am going to go with a Viking K-600D.
