Hello,
Have a customer who has an Avaya Partner and twice now it has lost its programming during an extended power failure. (likely 36+ hours). It is on a UPS but that eventually died. The first time I reprogrammed it *and* replaced the two AAA backup batteries..
My question is how long should the battery backup last with the two AAA? Days, Weeks? Seems like 36 hours isn't long enough.
I'm planning on suggesting them upgrade to a larger UPS (right now just has a 350 or 500VA battery backup in there) to get longer life out of it.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
-jr

sounds like R7 with no back up card and if the program is enabled.
Without the Backup card the customer needs to run the internal restore program and only after if it was saved.
Ive got 308's sitting around for two years will original batteries and the 308's still have retain the memory.
All I can say is that this is the biggest screw up of any key service unit.

Feature 59 will tell you the release and revision. If it is R7 ending in 91E, you need a software patch. Check the archives, and contact an Avaya Business Partner.

Thanks. It is an R7. I don't know revision. I will have to check it out.
I had the customer power down, yank the voicemail card to prevent AA from answering. So they could function until I could get out there to fix it. Funny thing is he says that after he yanked the voicemail card and powered back up everything was back normal (all button configuration, line configuration, etc).. So, before office closed for day he powered back down installed VM card upon power back up everything was fine.
I'll check the revision and see what upgrade might be needed.
Going to install a larger UPS though. Only has a 350VA on it now..
Thanks,
-James

Well then yes do a "feature 59" and see what version R.7 you have.
I would flash them to a "K".
