You wouldn't add it to the phone. Do you have any T/R ports (ETR mod) on the system?

What is the bell for? Night bell? Queue alarm? A bell that rings when the extension rings?

All of those require the bell to be plugged into a t/r port. How it gets set up is a different story....

or if the phone as an adjunct port, it can be plugged in there too. Have a site that has that set up. Lots of loud noise and can't hear his phone ring in the shop, so I set it up that way. It was a MLX phone, sorry I forgot to mention that first.. also have one set up on a t/r port and the phone that needs to be heard, by the bell, covers it.

Haven't been out yet, but the lady wants it to ring when her extension rings. She has a 4412D telephone and says that there are several around the plant and the bell is already there.

So you will connect a single line bell to a Tip/Ring port, which has its own extension number, then program it to cover the 4412 phone.
