That is the Problem I'm having..I have to Change to Com 1 every time I Boot up the computer..Also quick question ..Is Vista working on any New Rel. of WinSPM ??

This is not a big deal to change Com port. takes 5 sec.

so what's the problem with comm port 6? you can select from comm ports 1-8 when setting up a direct connection in WinSpm. Then it will always use the specified comm port automatically.

I finally got my DB9 to USB adaptor. I connected the 355af and the Magix processor and could not get in using any one of the 3 USB ports on my laptop. Did I mess up by installing the software that came with DB9-USB adaptor?

I'll have to second Memphis, the only things is you have to use the same USB port,always,or you will get a can't find serial port

Did you go into your system hardware ,and see what windows & your USB software ,assigned as your serial port

I can use com 6,4 on my lap top never tried any others. Works fine

When I brought up the COM port #6 issue, I believe I was thinking of the Partner software. The Magix connection works fine.
