We just installed a Avaya G450 with an S8300 at a new location. All VOIP with the exception of 2 eight port analog card's installed for faxes. Ip-Trunking thru fiber back to our Definity G3R. phones and data all work great. Fax's don't work. We were assured by vendors that all of our needs would be met with this system. So this is our beta site for VOIP. Long story short Other than ordering a bunch of POTS line or a T-1 for this location is there some soft of ATA or VOIP gateway that any of you have had success using? Our Vendor is looking for some kind of work around fix as I am typing this.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Easy fix. 'cha ip-codec X' set fax and modems to pass though on page 2 of the codec form. Also, Make sure that all fax traffic uses G.711.

Thanks for the quick reply, I looked at the Ip Codec and its set just like you said it should be. When you say make sure all fax traffic uses G.711 Is there somewhere else that need to be set other than the ip-codec?

Depends on how your network regions are setup. Different network regions use different codecs. If your codec is set for G.711 and pass thought and you fax is choosing that codec then fax and modems should work.

Thanks again for the help, We are being told that its not compatable with the Definity G3R-V11 so it looks like will will have to shoot a T-1 over for Faxing/Modems
