Anyone experience this? I did everything to the system to try to get them to work including defaulting the sytem and restoring the DB but no luck. I did not DTE it as I had many issues with that process on 403s. I would up replacing the main unit with another known good 403 and all is well again but curious if anyone has experienced this and been able to fix it. Thanks!! John

I have seen them get bitten by lighting. And the expansion port be the only thing that gets knocked out. Could this be?

Yes it could. This whole thing started right after a lightning storm. The phone lines come in on a BEP but for some reason bypassed the ITW Linx line protectors. The ATM module possibly fried as I had to replace that with ATM 4 mods in the main unit and I could not get it to come up on the new control unit I put in. Could a surge have snuck through the ATM 16 mod through the lines and fried the expansion ports? The control unit and all the expansion units are plugged into a UPS with surge protection. And now all the lines are going through the ITW Linx line protectors.

Probably because of an improper ground.

Once lightning fries a system there is no telling what the damage is or that will show up later. Best thing is to replace the entire system and it sounds like you are well on the way to doing that.
