Hi guys: I have a Partner messaging R1 that I would like to setup like a VS mail. I wouls like for the lines to ring in 5 times and if not answered the auto attendant will pickup and play the day or night menu. The problem I am having is when a call rings in the system answers immediately and I get the generic message,"your call is being transfered. It may be that my hunt group extensions are not set correctly. I have a 5 slot carrier with 5x9 processor and the messaging module in the left most slot. My extensions are 19.20.21,and 22. Am I on the right track. I did programs 505,506,507, and 206. Any ideas. Thanks

I would double check the ext's in 505 and check your 206.

Also check that the license card is not actually a mislabeled 6-port.

That would seem to make the ports 21,22,23,24. But if I put those extensions in, I cannot intercom 777 and get the VM every time. That would also indicate that the ports are wrong.

I think you are on the right track cc.
The sure way is to hit the VM ports by doing a icom XX until you KNOW what they are.

I get 19,20,21,22,23,24 if it in fact was a 6 port.

also if its only a 2 port then 19,20.

I would also make sure 10-18 are not assigned in error. in 505

This acs didnt have a flash mail b4 did it ?

It's a 4 port and I still get immediate answer when i ring in. I changed the ports to 19,20,21,and 22.

You were on the right track from the beginning. The ACS is 10-18, so the VM picks up at 19, for 2, 4, or 6 extensions.

Like Mike says, call each and see what happens.

If an extension got forwarded (feature 11) to a VM port, that could cause it to get ringing without mode codes.

I would just default the processor and start again.

Log in into Messaging and make sure 19, 20, 21 and 22 don't have MB assigned to it because its probably used unit.
