I have a customer provided 406 on our bench that I am trying to get into and I have a couple questions. The customer gave me the IP address that it is supposed to have but I cannot connect to it on LAN 1. Is there a way for me to find the IP address? Also, I know that on the IP500 there is a feature key card and the v2 uses the SD card. What is the 406 supposed to have for licenses? If I default the system using the AT commands, will this also wipe out the licenses?

The 406 usually will have a serial port "dongle" that is connected to the back of it, which is used for licensing.

The 406 will have a security key (aka dongle) either on the unit itself (serial) or on a PC running Key Server software (parallel or USB). Defaulting will wipe out all of the configuration including the license keys - however any Avaya Business Partner can regenerate the keys.

Connect with hyperterminal and use these settings:

38400
8
n
1

Then type:
at-debug
system

You will get the ip address in hex

Now go to https://www.kloth.net/services/iplocate.php and translate it to dotted quad
