Silly question, just for curiosity.

Once in while I'll walk up to a Definity console and find it logged on and at a COMMAND: prompt. I'll type LOGOFF and it will tell me that that is an invalid command, and then ask that I press the help key or type 'logoff.'

The help menu always includes the word LOGOFF so I know that it's a valid and permissible command for whoever is logged on.

Any idea why this might happen?

It's the only command that is; don't ask why.

Now that I think about it, I've seen that one some programming. It won't accept R1 if you mean r1, etc.
