I have a customer with an old Legend and a even older stand alone voice mail, Voice Gate. The VM power supply died and they don't make'em like that anymore. So I found a Merlin voice mail, 6 port card, it works good but I can't figure out how to have two auto attendents when the incoming line is a PRI. I have the main line point to the voice mail group, 770, using the dial plan routing, but how can I get a second number to be recognized by the auto attendant and go to auto attendant #2.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. You will need to make sure you're using a Merlin Messaging system, not MerlinMail. Create an AutoAttendant mailbox using the same digits as your incoming DID number for the second number. Assign the mailbox to AA 2. You'll also need to create a Calling Group in the Legend with the same number as the AA mailbox and set up the Overflow to 770. Although this may be in place already if this was working on the Voicegate. When the DID number comes in, the Legend sends it to the Calling Group which overflows it to the Messaging System which should answer with AA2.

You will need to make your second number and adjunct and forward it to voicemail. Assign class of service 16 to the mailbox. It will now take all calls to that number and dump them directly into AA #2. I am in Denver if you need to call....

OK, that didn't work. It is a merlin mail, you tell the port what to be, either AA or voice mail or both. I changed the dial plan route, replaced the incoming number with 555, to go to ext 555, ext 555 is in cover group 1 for vm. I set up box 555 with a class of service 16, but it still just goes to the AA 1. Any thoughts, do I need to set a couple of the ports to voice mail?

Create a Group Calling (777), make it covered by 770. In the Routing plan make any entry with second number then delete all digits and put 777 in the Add Digits entry. Create a MB 777 as AA2(COS 16) as Z- man suggested and make it a member of a Group Coverege. Make sure that number Overflow is 99 and Time is by request.

ok, that sounds like a plan. Do I need to put any extensions in the group calling (777)?

You can do all this, but you don't need too. Whats the incoming digits that you are getting? lets say you are using 3 digit extension numbers and the digits you are receiving are 211. Create and adjust extension of 211 and put it into VM coverage for the Merlin Mail, typcially 770. Create a mailbox 211 and assign it COS 16. Now when somedials that number, it will go to AA2.

that is what I thought, simple. I think I found the problem in the dail plan routing, the 3rd entry has a "7" as the first digit it replaces if with a "2" the 3 digits of the incoming number is 756. Is there a sequence that the routing takes, does it do pattern 1, before pattern 14? pattern 14 is what I'm using for the incoming number and it matches all 3 digits.

the incoming number of 756 is being changed to 256. You don't need any additional routing. Just make the adjunct extension and mailbox 256.
