I had a customers merlin mail crash a few days ago. I recived a replacement and installed it. I have a back line setup so customers can dial straight to the extensions. But when they dial there extension it goes straight to the receptionist on any extensions. I have all the extension in call coverage group 30 and the voice mail set to the correct number of digits and touch tone feature turned on also. And also 770 uses coverage group 30 so where am i going wrong?

Did you set the maximum digit length for the extension numbers (default in the Merlin Mail is 2), and are your selector codes set to DXT?

touch tone feature turned on also I missed this before (I also missed that you set the number of digits) Is this the "Touch Tone Gate"? If so, turn it OFF. It requires the caller press 1 to sorta prove to the Merlin Mail that they have touch tone before it will accept digits.

Is it really Merlin Mail 3.0 or could it be Merlin Messaging 3.0?
If it's the latter, then don't forget to "Rotary Enable" the extensions in the VM hunt group.
