Strange question: does anyone know what the warranty period is for a NEC EliteMail Hard Drive/Flash Drive? Customer has a FM2G(8) Flash Drive working on a VMS(8)-U30 card and it has crashed. I did the MF Test to determine the card is ok (I hope). Their old HD was replaced with this new Flash Drive in Sept. 2005. I seem to think the warranty period is for 2 years, but I'm not sure. . .

Key systems is 2 years. PBX systems are 1 year.

uhmm...why not call NEC rep or the distributor you got it from ?

Unfortunately, I'm not a distributor for NEC and the vendor that replaced their HD back in '05 says it has a one year warranty. But, my gut says that's not true, and I would hate to repalce and charge my customer if it is still warrantied by NEC.

well if you didn't sell it and your not a NEC dealer how would you get NEC to honor the warranty ?
If it where me I would call the NEC rep and ask him
I would be surprised to find a VM warranted for longer than a year

If you touched it and are not an nec certified technicain that works for a current nec associate you have voided your customers warranty anyway.
