I have a DSUII with software 5C and a J0816. Ever since I inherited this system 5 years ago, station 17 has not worked. A known good phone connected to station 17's wires shows nothing on the lcd display, as if it is not powered. No voltage is present across the Red/Grn to Grn/red pair 8 (term 15-16).
I know that Station 17 is associated with the external audible ringer relay. Is there some programming setting for that relay that would prevent Station 17 from operating as a normal station? Is there any other reason that one station port would be unpowered and not working?
Thanks, Andy

If you've defaulted the port and tried another tail and still have nothing you've got a bad port!

I pulled the 50 pin connector off the DSU cabinet, and there was no voltage across pins 8 and 33 (station 17). So, it seems I have a J0815 instead of a J0816. Andy
