Can I pull a CO Line from a DX80 without making programming changes?
The office in question has significantly reduced staffing, so the 7 lines in their DX80 are now overkill. However, there is a need for an additional fax line in the warehouse. Reusing an existing line is the preferred plan.
I have no Comdial experience, but do have the DX80 manuals. However, I don't have the software (& won't know the firmware rev until I get onsite), and the interconnect that originally installed the system is long since defunct. To make things a bit more interesting, the office is 2 hours away. I have other cabling work to do there, but I'd sure like to wrap this up in one trip.
If I yank line #7 from the system, is it smart enough to detect that voltage is no longer present and use the next available line for outbound calling?

yes. you can just unplug it from the modular co line port and you'll be fine. Make sure the customer tells the telco to remove that line from the incoming hunt group if it is part of it.
