I do not know this system. But customer says there is a red alarm Light on it. Another place I saw that the red light is always on. This site I do not know if it just came on or has always been on.
Problem is - They cannot make or receive any calls but they can call Ext to Ext. They say there is a dial tone but still can't call out and no calls come in. Yesterday everything was working.
Any ideas? Thanks

Yes - I already read that and referenced it in my orig post.
But the problem is, they can't call out or get calls in.
The red light was just a first reaction - OH red light. But still trying to find out if there is a problem with the phone system (they saw red light) or a problem with phone lines. They have not requested me onsite as yet. Just a phone call to see who they need to call.
Thanks

My system has dial tone on the handset, but it is an intercom dial tone. What happens if they press the line assigned to line 1 or dial 801 or some other simple code. If they unplug the modular plug at CO1 and plug it into a REGULAR phone does it work? And lastly, how do they expect you to fix it without visiting the site? Not calling in and out sounds like trouble at the demarc, but you're not there :-)

Carl:
Yes, so right.
IF I remember right, they press the LINE button to dial out. So I don't know where the dial tone is coming from.
I added MOH the other day. All was good. Called In and Out. The next morning, no calls. And that is when they saw the red light. Not knowing the system - I thought something went bad, until I saw the post about Red Light always on.
Just trying to figure out if trip is needed or just work with the Line provider.
Thank you all for the feedback. Hopefully the provider will correct the problem, soon.

Just a fun fact: The TDA/TDE series of phone systems will log an alarm in the event of a power outage. Unless you clear that log, the alarm light will stay lit. There's probably no true alarm condition at all.
