Here's my situation....

We have a client with a Partner ACS R3 with VMS R5 that would like to put new callers on hold automatically when their sales staff is already busy with calls during the day. At night they want normal auto-attendant VMS(which they already have set up).

Unless I missed something, their VMS system can't place callers on hold.

I read in another thread that the ASA/DXD card can place callers on hold, but I'd like to make sure that I can get the card to handle things during the day, and still have their existing VMS system continue to handle calls at night.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I have never attempted it. Tommy would be the one to ask.

cvrbob is right on! You can even set the ASA rings less than the VMS Hunt rings, so you can turn off the ASA and have the Auto Attendant take over. (same for DXD, put it on 0 rings, and you have a lunch time "auto attendant", turn it off and you have Day auto attendant, turn on Night Service for night auto attendant.

Sorry about telling you wrong information. Between the time I read your post and reply, I forgot you were only going to use the mail at night. Thanks everyone for covering my mistake.
