I was asked by a customer to help them with a merlin legend. The problem is I have only worked (in limited capacity) with Partner systems. What do I need to program a Legend 511A system. The problem is they had 5 C.O. lines and got rid of 2. So now they have dead air on phones where they don't have direct line access.

The only you need is 20L Consol or if you don't you need a SPM software. With either one you can log in go to Lines and Trunks, press Pool, dial 70 and take those two lines(804 and 805) out(Delete). Done.

Is the 511A a software version? I havn't been to the customers site, because they are an hour away. They rely now on service from 3 hrs away. How do I log in using a 20L console. On Avaya's website I could only find SPM programming instructions for the Legend series

Chad,
On the left side of the large Display you would find "Manue" button. Pres it and you will get three choices. First one above Maintanance is a Syatem Programming. Press it and on buttom left you will find Start or Exit depends on Software release. Then press Lines and Trunks and follow steps I discribed before.

you go into the Maintanance, System, Invintory it will give you info on slot 00.
