We have a DS 616 system that is about 3 years old.

With the default programming, all the extensions ring when a call comes in off of the outside lines.

Is it possible to set up pickup groups so that we can have a outside call only ring one group of extensions, then if the call is not picked up after "X" number of rings, it rings another group of extensions?

Esseitially, we want any outside calls to go to our office workers (the 1st group), and then if they are busy/unable to answer the calls, then keep ringing their phones, but also ring the manager's extensions (2nd group), so that they can pick up the call if no-one else can.

We don't want any extensions that are not in either pickup group to ring when an outside call comes in. We want them to ring for an call transfer/intercom call, obviously.

Also, when an extension is dialed for an intercom call, a small tone is heard on the recieving handset, and then the caller is automatically connected. Is there an option to set it so that the person recieving the intercom call can make a decision whether they want to answer the call? (e.g. turning off auto-answer on intercom calls only)

Third, my boss wonders whether we can program the system to block certain extensions from dialing out. She wants these extensions to be able to call internal extensions, but not be able to dial out on our outside lines.

We have a copy of the system programming guide. We're just not sure how to navigate through the MMC's to get this set up.

All help is appreciated.
